Last week, ROCK gained three new barn cats that are a welcome addition to our team! Please meet Dorian, Claude, and Poppy!
They are all 1-2 years old and are now living in our red barn to establish a homebase before releasing them on the property.
Our Equine team found them through the Austin Pets Alive non-profit, whose mission is to promote and provide the resources, education, and programs needed to eliminate the killing of companion animals.
Austin Pets Alive has a special program, called the Barn Cat Program, where they rescue poorly socialized cats and feral cats from local shelters and adopt them out as working cats to local homeowners, landowners, and businesses who have a need for pest control.
They are all sterilized, vaccinated, microchipped, and adopted to families who appreciate working cats for critter patrol and can provide a safe, appropriate environment such as a barn, stable, garage, or warehouse.
