What ROCK participants & families say
When I am riding … I forget that I am in a wheelchair and I feel like I can do anything. I feel Free!
When I signed up for this program I just figured I would get out of the house for a little while, learn about horses, and get to ride them. I can honestly say I have gotten that and so much more. ROCK has become a safe place for me, a home away from home.
The benefits of therapeutic horseback riding are seen in her increased independence, physical strength and stamina, following directions, verbal and social skills. She has improved her interactions with not only the horses, but the instructors, clients, and clients’ families. She now rides with limited support. ROCK has laid a rock solid foundation for us to build on.
